Revised Ideal Weight Calculator

I finally finished the revised calculator I've been working on. This version can also do calculations based on current weight and percent body fat to give an estimated weight at any given % body fat. I think this method is more precise for most folks, though to my suprise during development, it was only 1 pound away from the goal weight I already selected and 1 pound the other way from the upper end of the average ranges from the old calculator. Thus for me, the new one is not much of an improvement, though I suspect that it will be for many people, especially women.

The new calculator is also unique as best I can tell on the web in terms of providing a weight based on a desired percent body fat. Much of the time I spent on development was spent coming up with a way to arrive at this weight. It may seem easy, but it's not at all simple because you are in essence trying to come up with a number based on another number, both of which are unknowns. I even tried to develop an algebraic equation for this, but I realized it simply won't work that way.

Anyway, here it is for those so inclined:
